We are going to visit our family this week! Yay! Before LO, we could drive it in 18 hours. So our plan is to put Caleb to "bed" in his carseat at 7:00pm (his normal bedtime), drive through the night, and then keep driving on Saturday and stop as needed, hopefully arriving at family by that evening. Thoughts or suggestions?
My second question relates to leaving Caleb for a night. DH and I have not had a date since Caleb was born, let alone a night away. So while we are with family, we are going to check into a hotel one night, just the 2 of us. DH wants to leave Caleb starting when he goes down for his second nap, at about 1:00. I normally BF Caleb when he wakes up from that nap, when he goes to bed, and when he wakes up first thing in the morning. Caleb has not had a bottle in a few months (he started refusing them at DC in morning, and now since I am off I just always give him the tap). Should I leave bottles with milk or should I just leave sippy cups? Caleb does great with water in a sippy.
One more question...any ideas how to tranisiotn him to the new time. They are 1 hour behind us (so if it is 5 here, it is 4 there). I wouldn't worry about it, except that means Caleb would be in bed by 6 every night:(
Any other advise is appreciated! Thanks ladies!

Re: Going on a trip...questions
I couldn't BF so I have no advice on that but as for the driving, just be sure to take breaks so your LO can stretch. On our drive from Detroit to Phoenix - 3 days - one of us sat in the back with G almost the entire way to play with him. We also brought along some new toys.
I wouldn't worry about the time difference too much - it's only an hour. Maybe before you go try keeping him up a little later every night to see if you can extend his bedtime to 8 which would be 7 where you are going. Have fun on your trip!
