Which DE programs should we check out?

Asids from our own clinic which has a very strong DE program, we also have an appt with CC.RM to discuss DE. Where else should we go?  All options are on the table. Location of the clinic isn't important. If you have any recommendations, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. :)

I guess it also depends if you want to do fresh or frozen

Can you tell me more?  I'm just starting to learn about our options. Initially, we've discussed wanting to do PGD even with a donor cycle. That would be an option, right?

  • Sdfc and ORM (Oregon) have exceptional stats. Shady grove is popular because of their split option, but I know that their donors are slanted towards the 3x which may not work in your favor for other splits. I'm happy to discuss my thoughts on any of these, including the programs you already know about. There is a good blog from someone with CCRM I'll pass along (emailed you, it's a lot). Good luck and rooting for you with this.

Unless it is something with H, I am not sure you would need to do PGD since donors are screened.  But if it is something you felt you really needed, I am sure you could have it done.

Fresh you sync up your cycle with the donor and unless you do a shared cycle you keep all the eggs.  It is more expensive that doing frozen.

Frozen is like a FET, once you are ready they thaw and fert and transfer.

We chose frozen for since we would be cycling out of state, it is much cheaper and I (we) don't to end up with alot of extra frosties.

Let me know what other questions you have...

  • I'll give a plug for ivf.nj, even though I'm not all the way through my cycle yet. Their donor selection process does not appeal to everyone, though. They basically choose for you, and you get to accept or decline. Good luck.

  • I believe your doc, CCRM, SDFC (where I am), and ORM are the top places in the country for fresh cycle. RBA is the top place for frozen egg bank. I guess you have to decide if you want fresh, frozen, split cycle, agency, or in-house pool and take it from there. If you have any questions about SDFC PM me.

Thanks Edwina.  I'm going to email you.  We got our protocol if we insist on trying again. Antagonist with testosterone priming. Thought you might have a comment or two.

As for DE, does splitting refer to splitting the cycle with one or more other recipients?

I don't know anything about t priming. Interesting and I'm glad you're keeping your RE on his toes. Yes, splitting the cycle with other couples, so you pay less but also receive less eggs. I'll be MIA from 3 through late evening.

ETA seems to be done at CCRM, sort of a bumped up EPP but I don't really get the details.

I second everything Lynn said. Priorities for me were #1 - live birth rate and #2 proximity to me. I'm also in the middle of my cycle at SDFC, so far so good. Best of luck to you in your decision making.

Thanks for the recommendation.  We'll check it out.  I can see the virtue in being "matched" and taking some of the work out of the process for you.  I'm not sure if it's right for us, but it's good to have options.  Good luck!  Hugs :-)

That was my issue with him too. I so wanted to cycle there because of his rating and my family is all in IL, so travel would have been an airline ticket. But, between the pool and the guarantee package, I was not sold. My place had a large pool for what I was looking for. I do have some complaints about them, but I suppose you will have that anywhere. I am excited to see how everything pans out for you and what direction you go in!

  • I have known several (5-6?) couples who have had success with DE in Po.rtl.and O.R..M program.  I'm in Michigan and all have traveled out there to cycle due to great stats and very affordable program.

C.C.R...M is great too but expensive.

I second the RBA recommendation for the frozen egg bank. Its one of the least expensive programs, highly successful, no wait to find a donor, and convienent if you live out of town. They use the link below but when I clicked on locations it looks like there are several choices for frozen programs.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

We went through Shady Grove and were very happy with them.  They have split cycles where you share the eggs from a fresh cycle with one or two other recipients.  They also have a 6-cycle guarantee program which was a great option for us.

I wish you the best moving forward!
