Two questions regarding TDY.
DH will be TDY quite a bit in the next two years. If I go visit him/stay with him while he is TDY, do I need to change my Tricare region to be seen at the base hospital/clinic/whatever? Will I or my son be refused if I haven't changed my region? He will be TDY in one location for 5 weeks, and then move to another TDY location, rinse, repeat.
Secondly, if I DO travel with him, can we still apply for separation pay, since technically I am still "residing" in the city of his permanent duty station/I'm not on his orders? I have heard conflicting answers to this.
We are fairly new to the military, so thanks for helping me out.

You don't have to change your region if you are just visiting. You can be seen for any urgent or emergent care you might need. You just cannot be seen for "regular" care, like checkups or allergy shots or dermatology appointments.
But you shouldn't be doing these appointments with various providers anyway, that messes with the continuity if care.
Uh, separation pay is for when you are SEPARATED. If you are with him, you aren't separated, so why do you think you should get this pay? It sounds like you are trying to play the system, which is really shady IMO.
This. You won't be separated so you shouldn't get separation pay.
