Heyyyyyyy ladies ![]()
I have been around the message board block for a while now and have always heard and known the following to be true: "A line is a line, except for the notorious false positive-giving blue dye tests." I realized yesterday that this is not always true and I'm making this post for quick reference when ladies in the future may search here for posts about bad wondfos. I hope this will be helpful to you all!
With my googling skills, I have determined that there are several claims that the following batches have given false positives and/or false negatives.
Lot #: WO110972-3 Exp 9/13
Lot#: W0110632-3 Exp.: 06/2013
LoTt# WO111150-3, Exp.: 11/13
Lot#: WO110514-3 Exp: 05/2013, the lot I received my false positives from
There could be more that I'm missing, too.
What my false positives looked like:

I will never use wondfos again. Walmart carries $.88 tests that I'll use from now on, but I'm not trying to convey the idea that if you are using them and having good luck with them that you should stop, or even if you haven't tried them that you shouldn't if you want to. They are dirt cheap and many, many people have great results in using them, I just wasn't that lucky!
Re: Bad Wondfo Info - False Positives
Wow, those lines look real! Are you sure you aren't pregnant? Since the Wondfos are so sensitive, it might take another day or two before another brand will show positive.
FWIW, I had a ghost line on a $ store test the day before I had my hcg level tested. My level ended up being 124, so I'm surprised the test was that light.
Thanks for taking the time to compile all of the information in your thread. I'm sure it will help someone!

I know right! Well, from the same pee cup, I got both negative and positive wondfos, so from the beginning I was skeptical. I also got a negative wondfo yesterday evening holding my pee in for 5.5ish hours and another negative wondfo this morning. This happened last month too, but all of my tests were past the time limit when the lines showed up. Unfortunately, I found another woman complaining of false positives with my batch here. She actually had her blood drawn and knew her hcg was 0.
Thanks!
It's not a false positive if its past the time limit, regardless of the color. The time limits are for a reason. If you see color and the time is up its just an evap line. Yes, it sucks that some evap lines have color but I don't consider that a false positive.

Thanks for the information. I have wondered about mine a few times, but don't have nay that you listed-my verdict iss till out if its a good or bad batch
Funny story though, about an hour ago I realized I left my water bottle upstairs but I decided I would leave it there because I was being lazy. As I began to read your post, I hopped up, ran upstairs to grab one of tests and came running back downstairs. Its amazing how TTC has taken over my life, and apparently my laziness.
...and yes my water is still upstairs

Here's hoping that none of us get any more false positives!
I have five pregnancy tests left from Lot: WO111150-3, Exp.: 11/13
I emailed Wondo and got an almost immediate response (see below in italics). I am now confused as to whether or not I have a bad batch. It seems like he's saying my batch is fine but he's sending me more anyway, hence my confusion. Here's the email:
Thanks for your order and email.
This is not bad batch and someone may not understand the test results very well. You have used the most of the tests and look like no problem until you found some talking on line. (Huh? How would he know how many I've used? FTR, I have used about five pregnancy test and all were accurately negative.)
Please see the attachment for your reference and send the picture to me if you have some question for your test result. His attachment simply explained how the tests work.
But we will still send some new lot of hCG strip to you. Could you test the new lot with lot 111150-3 that you have on hand? And let us know what the difference they are. I don't understand what he wants me to do. FYI - MY OPKs are fine. I just emailed telling them that I wanted some replacements for the pregnancy tests since those were apparently from a bad batch. Does he want me to dip the bad test and the good tests and report back on whether they had differing results?
We very much appreciate this opportunity to do service for you. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any further questions or concerns.
Have a good day.
Thanks
Best Regards.

If I'm not mistaken, sometimes you can also get some faint positives then negatives in the event of an ectopic pregnancy. I had a friend that got a couple positives, a few negatives, and assumed false positives had occurred. A couple weeks later she was having severe abdominal pain and turned out to be an EP. Don't want to be all serious & scary...but it was a pretty recent thing & still on my mind!

Ectopics are tricky, but unless there are other genetic issues (as with a c/p) the pregnancy will continue to grow and produce enough HCG to continue to show on a test. Betas won't come back normal, but pee tests won't be able to predict something like that. You can get very dark positives with an ectopic.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Wow, that guy shouldn't be in contact with customers. So many errors! Where did you get your wondfos? I got mine through amazon and contacted them yesterday and they are refunding me for them.
I did get them through Amazon. Do you think I should contact them now, too? It sounds like Wondfo is sending me more but I wonder how long they'll take. I have 10 days until testing so I hope the are quick. I have three FRERs that I can use but I have saved those as my backup to verify any positive I might potentially get from a Wondfo.
I should have contacted Amazon in the first place. I guess I figured it would be easier to go directly to the source. Ugh.
Well, I initially contacted the seller on Amazon and they said that the wondfos are supplied to them through Amazon so I would need to contact their customer service. I just did an online chat through the customer service and they said they would refund my money. I'm not going to use them again, so if you are pleased with just getting a new set I'd say you're good with just contacting wondfo! GL! FX this is your cycle!
