Neck support and moby wrap

I feel like I get it as tight as I can but it seems like Connor's neck is unsupported in both the kangaroo and newborn holds. Is he still too small at 7lbs 5ozs? Anyone feel the same way?

It says in the instructions if baby is lighter than 8lbs to consult a medical professional... Maybe it's his weight?

My baby is over 8lbs and I feel the same way. Hopefully someone with more expertise will chime in, I'd really like to use my Moby!

They only way I feel my LO is secure in it is when I hold his head with one hand until he falls asleep, then I tuck his head under one of the arm loops with his face outward of course. Then he feels really supported and secure. I don't think he will feel secure with a supported head in it until he can keep his head up himself.

I definitely used mine when he was that little (and smaller). You have to get it tight and get him down in it a bit. But like someone else said, I often kind of held his head until he fell asleep and then tucked it under a bit.

I've had trouble with this too. I have to hold DD's head with my hand until she is asleep and then I tuck her head under one of the shoulder pieces, then pull the front part up over that. Then I can get my hands free.

As a pp said... If the directions say wait till 8lbs then I would wait...

When I put LO into the moby I place one ear to my chest and then take the moby and put it on her head for support. It shows this in the book. I have never been worried about neck support however if I bend over with her in it I always put my hand there too.

Adding that I do not cover her face, just the back of the head to hold it in place.

I used it when DS was well under 8 lbs. At that time, he always fell right asleep and I'd just tuck him into the side, like PP are saying. Now that he's a little bigger (right about 8lbs), he wants to stay awake so he looks around for awhile. He has pretty good neck strength so he can hold his head up, and he'll rest it on my shoulder when he gets tired.

I am using it and I have been since my little one was under 8lbs.. she LOVES it.. I do find it hard when she is awake and want's to look around but as soon as she falls asleep I can tuck her head in and it is perfect. I think there is no real way to force her head to stay in there.. she also moves it from side to side so it would not work anyway (her face would be faced into the fabric)

Good luck - stick in there.. it will get easier as their necks get stronger.
