High-Risk Pregnancy

Is MTHFR considered high risk?

I am 5w2d pregnant and conceived during an IVF cycle. So I started lovenox at transfer. But is this considered high risk? I had 2 previous losses one at 5 weeks and one at 11w the second one they say is from clots because everything else was normal. Is there other things I should ask the MFM doc when I go on the 28th?

any advice would be extremely helpful, I really want this to be our take home baby!!!

  • I think it really depends on who you talk to.

  • My doctor says yes... (I had 3 losses before), I am on Lovenox injections and over 35, so I assume that is the reason.

  • We lost a baby to acrania and it was discovered my husband is a heterozygous C6677T/A1297C and I have the A1298C. We were high risk this pregnancy until we got the all clear at 20 weeks.  I was released from MFM care then

  • I have Mthfr and my dr. Considers me high risk. I go to my normal ob and a high risk dr.
  • After my first pregnancy led to severe IUGR, I was tested for everything and determined to have a homozygous MTHFR mutation. My doc doesn't feel this was a cause, and it may not be, but I was still able to have them put me on blood thinners and am of course being watched closely this pregnancy.
