Pool logistics

If you take your LO to a public pool I have two questions for you. TIA!

1. How do you manage the showering after? Do you hold them the entire time? Anyone use a water wrap?

2. I rented a locker in the changing room - what would you keep in the locker? (Right now I got, soap, sunblock, diapers and extra clothing. The pool has towel service).

Re: Pool logistics

  • If it were me I would wait until we got home to shower unless you aren't going home right after. Im not a fan of the public showers because at some point you may have to set lo down. As far as the locker just include q-tips, lotion and brush(if you need it). Water, sippy cup and snacks.

  • I thought about waiting for home but it's a 10 minute ride and I DS will invariably fall asleep for his nap in the car seat. And I would prefer to wash the chlorine off him first. So far I did it twice just holding him but I'm wondering if there are better ways.

  • He does have a bit of sensitive skin so I worry about it, but I may try to see if it bothers him. Thanks for all the suggestions!

  • I made a "swimming box" so I'm not running around looking for all our swim gear. It's an indoor pool, and generally we take a couple swim diapers, his swimsuit (trunks), towel, a travel size of soap and lotion, clothes and diaper for afterwards, sippy cup and puffs/Cheerios, 1 food container. DH or I will take DS into the shower and either rinse him off or give him a quick lather with one hand while holding him.
