Remind me to wear tight-fitting clothes...

When I wear baggy clothes or maternity shirts that I don't quite fill out yet, I just look fat. However, I've discovered that when I wear the tighter-fitting shirts and capris that hug my curves better, I actually look pregnant. Especially the shirts that are cinched at the sides.. Mental note to self!

  • I know.  I've been so used to trying to cover up my spare tire that I forget that now that I'm pregnant the tighter shirts are totally ok.  I love it!

  • Amen sister! My belly is still pretty small. I hate maternity clothes and I've bought a few more flow-y tanks but all I do is look fat! I know sometimes I can't help it and I have to wear normal clothes and just hope people can see my little belly under the clothes, but if I'm just running errands or something that I don't really care what I'm wearing, I stick to yoga pants and a tighter tank or t-shirt. That's the only time anyone can really see my belly :/

  • So true! I'm getting to that awkward point where the non-maternity stuff is getting too short but the maternity stuff is still way too big.

I'm still trying to get out of the "hiding" mentality....my belly is getting big and for the first time, that is a good thing. Can't be afraid to show it off!

  • I'm short and have the same problem.  If I wear wide leg work pants I wear a fitted shirt on top otherwise I feel like a walking balloon!  I've decided I like fitted shirts better any way and gave away a lot of my blousey shirts this time around.

  • I am 100% with you on this!  I feel so much better about myself and way more confident when I wear tighter-fitting, curve-enhancing clothes.  Keep on rockin' it girl!

  • Yes! I have maternity dress that I love because it's so comfy but looking back at pics, I just look big, not pregnant. I'll have to wait a couple of months to wear that again and just stick to tighter clothes.

  • Yup totally agree. I love the maternity shirts with ruching at the sides. Flowy stuff just makes me look wide!

This exactly.  I find I am wearing tons of tanktops because they're long and also form fitting.

  • I totally agree. Other than pants and short, I haven't worn any maternity stuff yet. It just makes me feel big and fat.

  • I'm loving the Old Navy Maxi dresses.  They are perfect for showing off the bump without making me look fat.  I've worn a couple of non-maternity items that are flowy and I just look bloated!  Plus the maternity maxi dresses have the elastic on the side to help when things start expanding.
  • Bah! I don't care anymore. I am very overweight and carry most of it around my stomach, hips and butt even when I am not pregnant. I just look fat, I mean to ME I look pregnant but I could see why other people don't see it. It was the same with the last pregnancy all the way up until a week before I delivered I had to convince people I was pregnant, I just look super fat. Oh well. :P
