Cramping/Spotting Question

Okay so this is getting ridiculous....I went to my regular OB appointment on Monday and had an internal exam. Had some spotting that night and have had it ever since, although it does come and go it is still hanging around. I called and spoke to one of the nurses yesterday and they said that all sounds normal. This morning I am still spotting (brown definitely not red) and very crampy, think mild to moderate period cramps. I don't want to be the person that calls and complains about everything....but I'm getting a little weirded out that I am still spotting and now cramping.

I guess my question is, I'm not sure if I'm having contractions or not and what everyone else's experience is...thanks in advance!

Re: Cramping/Spotting Question

  • If you are having brown spotting it is not a cause of concern. I got some cramping after my cervical check yesterday and I heard it is pretty normal too.

The brown spotting sounds like old blood from the exam so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. The cramping might be contractions though! That's what my early labor felt like. See if you can time them! Good luck :)

  • I had cramping and spotting for several days after my first cervical check. The cramping went away first, but I remember being surprised about how long I spotted. I think it lasted about 4 days. The cramping has returned off and on, but it tends to ease up if I change positions or especially if I put on looser pants/undies.
