July 2012 Moms

Dropped already?

I've had several people tell me that I look like I've dropped. I've notice more pressure in my back and hips and I'm peeing more than ever.  I'm 35 weeks, is that a normal time to drop, or are we looking at a possible early arrival of the little guy?  I was just wondering if anyone else feels like they have dropped?

Re: Dropped already?

  • I think I've dropped, at least a little.  Several people have noticed.

  • I think I dropped two weekends ago.  No one has commented but I realized that I'm not out of breath as much and there's definitely a ton more pressure down below.

I've dropped. My heartburn has subsided and I can feel more pressure on my bladder. Other people have commented that I am carrying a lot lower.

Baby BOY is due May 23, 2014!

  • Yes.  I was just reading that a lot of first time moms will drop around 34-36 weeks.  I was surprised!

I'm still getting rib pain and heartburn...so having the baby drop sounds nice!

  • I dropped overnight the night before last, my mom said it wasn't visibly noticable but there's a space between my boobs and my bump again and I am feeling more pressure/pain in my groin and hips.
  • I was already carrying low and while people have told me I look lower, I think that it is just that my belly is bigger so it is even more obvious how I'm carrying. The doc said baby is still further up.

  • Definitely possible. It's also possible for LO to drop and float back up and possible for others to not drop at all until labor.

Also, baby dropping does not always equal better breathing or more stomach space like all the books promise. I'm lucky enough to have no waist and a larger baby and despite the fact that I've dropped a couple times since week 33, I haven't had much relief in the upper part of my abdomen :(
