Anyone started working on their baby's room yet? We had an office/catch-all room that we weren't using, so we decided to use that for the room. Talk about HARD WORK, I have been sorting and trashing and organizing for over a week to clear out this room and it still looks like a disaster! Im having a garage sale Saturday to get rid of a bunch of junk. I wont be able to paint or anything until next month after the anatomy scan when we find out the gender, but at least it will be ready when that time comes!
Re: Baby room
When we moved into our house almost 2 years ago, we set aside one of the rooms as the baby room. It was already painted a lovely pearl/shell green. (Light and shimmery.)
Of course, this was before we found out about our IF.
Right now there are some boxes in there of stuff we want to sell or donate.
But, we also have a book case in there. (We bought really nice ones when we moved in, and turned the day-room/office into a library. So we had no need for this bookcase.) We put all my YA and children books in there. We're book crazy, so it's filled. We're going to need another bookcase for the books we know we'll be buying LO.

It is already painted, though, so there's that.
The Husband read all these horror stories about people ordering their furniture, it taking 8+ weeks to arrive and then having damage of some sort, etc etc etc. So, it got ordered "early" lol.
I can't wait to start working on it... we are transforming our guest room into the nursery(I didn't want to give up craft room LOL!!) We have to figure out what to do with the queen size mattress that's in there though... the headboard/rails will fit up into the attic, but the mattress will not.
For those of you who are painting, what colors??!! My nursery walls are just neutral and I need some inspiration!
We are doing our guest room too b/c my office/craft room is a must! lol. The mattress for us is going to have to go on craigslist b/c we don't have basements in Florida and I don't know when we will need one next.
I am doing turquoise for the baby with accents of pink/purple for a girl and green/blue for a boy. We are doing a sea/beach theme since we are South Florida residents.

I love it!! Turquoise/Aqua are my favorite colors and the bedding that I really like is called "full circle" from the Land of Nod - and could actually go for either gender I feel like. Do you have a color picked out to paint yet? Paint scares me LOL - when I painted the craft room it literally took me a month and buying about 10 of the little $2 samples just to figure out the color.
Good call on the CL for the mattress, DH thinks we should prob just donate it b/c according to him, "nobody's gonna buy a used mattress" but I think he just means HE wouldn't. haha! Besides getting $$ for it would be a def plus!
This was us with DS. He was due July 30th. We ordered furniture late February. It arrived around April, and sat, still in boxes, in the baby's room until about May. In May we finished tiling the kitchen, bathroom, and front entry, and were finally free to get the new carpet installed. It was the end of May when SO starting setting up the furniture, when he realized that one of the pieces to the hutch for the dresser was broken. We spent at least a month attempting to contact the manufacturer (like the instruction sheet told us to do), but could never get a hold of anyone (emails and phone calls went unanswered). Early July I went into the store where we bought the furniture from and asked for their help. I got pushed from person to person for a week or two, before I finally went off on some poor lady. I explained that I understood it wasn't her fault, but I was sick of being pushed aside and I wanted an answer now. I explained that I was about a week away from my EDD, we had ordered this back in February, and I had been asking for help from them for nearly a month now, and I wanted every thing taken care of. They ended up giving us the piece from another customers order. While I felt bad that they took from another customers order, they had 'ours' on the way from TX and it would be there in a few days. Plus the other customers order wasn't complete yet anyways - they were waiting on other pieces to arrive as well.
So word to the wise - order sooner rather than later, and check the pieces over for damage before 'storing' them.
I have sold a mattress on CL before and got $90!! It was when we were moving in together and it was a decent one. but $ is $ so you should try : )
The room is already turq and it's already beach themed. I can find the color for you later but I think we might do a chair rail or wainscoting to split it up a little bit. I really want to do paisley pattern for bedding if it's a girl. I have seen some that I like and if not, I quilt so I can make one

The baby will be sharing a room with SS. Here's SS's room so whether baby is a boy or girl, it'd better be a Cowboys fan
ETA: Sorry the pic was so big!
I'm 11 weeks today, and I've been reading everyones responses. So question, at what point did all of you decide to start decorating? When you reached your T2?
This!
I haven't done a thing and I am not sure when I will.
I will have to put my sewing machine/ craft stuff in storage so i am in no big rush.
We have...or I have :-) we are converting a guest room into the baby room. I spent a few hours on Tuesday hauling everything out and going through everything, except that large furniture that I couldn't move on my own even if I wasn't pregnant.
We live in an older home and the room will need some work (fixing old nail holes, replacing that awful fan and so on) before we do anything, so I convinced my hubby that if we stared now it wouldn't be SO overwhelming when we find out the sex.
