Im thinking ahead for when our daughter arrives this summer. As long as she nurses during the night I want her in our room with us, so I plan to sidecar her crib to our bed. That way she is near, but in a safe space where her daddy and I won't keep her up with our moving. I'm curious though, what putting her down for naps will be like once she begins crawling. I don't think I'd feel comfortable putting her down in a 3 sided crib when she could crawl off the edge of our bed if she wanted to (because I hope to use some of her nap times to take a few minutes to relax myself or do chores around the house). Besides using a pack and play, putting her on the floor or having a second crib....any suggestions for creating a more enclosed sleeping area for naps? Thanks!
Re: Preparing to Sidecar...Naps??
But baby down to nap on a floor bed, teach baby how to scale the bed and climb off, use video monitor (didn't do this, but many others have), put blankets and pillows on the floor around your bed, lower your bed.
My son--even though he knows how to get off our bed--like to call out/cry for us to come and get him. Initially he had to constantly explore getting down when he learned to crawl, but he quickly learned that he likes having help.
