Our Dr. said there will be 3 or 4 of them. I'm nervous because our appt. is July 2...with our luck, he'll have some sort of reaction on the 4th and no one will be open.
Three vax and a finger prick. The finger prick was by far the worst for my son. The shots garnered the same reaction as last time, high pitch wailing for a second and it was over. They had to do the finger prick twice beacus our nurse sucked ass and didn't do it right the first time.
We got MMR, Varicella, and IPV. (They warned me that MMR might give a rash, but so far nothing. She hasn't even had any ibuprofen or anything.)
Ditto. Actually the finger prick wasn't that bad for DD, she didn't even cry, but the MMR apparently stings quite a bit and she burst into tears for that one. It did make her leg swell a little at the sight, but otherwise I haven't noticed any side effects.
Z got three needles and then we had to go to the hospital to have her blood drawn to check her iron levels and something else in her blood. I hate needles so she did better than me LOL
Em had two - MMR and Prevnar. And I just remembered reading this thread that we're supposed to go for a blood draw. But our pedi said we just need to do it before we go back at 15 months. At that appt. she's supposed to get another 3 shots but I didn't think to ask which ones.
The girls got 4 shots. One in the arm, two in one leg and one in the other and then we had to go to the hospital to have blood drawn to check their iron levels and to have a CBC done (that's normal for our pedi office to do at one year--I don't know if they all do it though)
The vaccines they got were the chicken pox, pneumococcal (I know I butchered that spelling) conjugate, MMR. I can't remember the last one, prevnar maybe?
With you following a delayed schedule, I don't know what vaccines he'll get though.
Edit: I didn't read posts before replying, a lot of others are saying prevnar also, so I really think that was the 4th one.
I was going to put that DD got the pneumococcal bc that's what the info sheet called it but then I noticed that prevenar was checked off on the appt sheet and others were saying prevnar so I think they're the same.
Interesting how most everyone is a little bit different...
She got 4 shots. MMR, chicken pox, and I don't remember the other 2 off the top of my head. She had a low grade fever a few days later that lasted about 12 hours and 5 days of diarrhea, so she either had a reaction to the shots (which would be the first time for that) or she pick up a little bug at the dr's office.
Dr said no shots at 15 mo., shots at 18 months, and then no more until she starts school. Yay!
Her office didn't do iron or lead testing--I'll have to ask about that at the 15 mo visit.
Ev got 3 shots - Chicken Pox, MMR, and Hep A. I think the MMR must have been a bad one because he screamed bloody murder for quite a while. He also got a toe prick to check his iron levels, and I think they would have done some testing for lead too if we'd had any risk factors. I know we had to fill out a questionnaire about potential lead exposure but luckily were low risk.
DD got MMR #1, Varicella #1, Hep A #1, and Pneumococcal #4. They didn't do any blood draws, They checked her lead level at her 9 month appt. She did get a fever and a slight rash about a week later.
