need recipe for home made shampoo (that works)

I tried some store bought shampoo with a low amount of chemicals, and it didn't work well at all. I might as well not have washed my hair.

I'm looking for recipes to make my own, but I want to avoid the same experience. Has anyone tried something that works really well?

  • Baking soda and water rinse. Gets it clean like nothing else.

  • Many here like the no 'poo method (baking soda and rinse with apple cider vinegar) but it didn't work for me at all. I recently started using castille soap( I use Dr. Bronner's Almond scent) and coconut milk--I still rinse with ACV. It's delicious, it's sudsy haven, and it really leaves my hair feeling clean, and smooth and no more static!
  • I have oily hair, and do Baking Soda with a water rinse, some times(about every 4-5 washes) Ill rinse with ACV as well! ;-)  I LOVE how my hair looks, I can even go 2+ days without washing my hair without feeling TOTALLY disgusting, which is HUGE for me and my oily hair!;)

My husband has LOTS of hair, just normal stuff, and does BS with ACV rinse before rinsing with water..he LOVES it, and it has made his hair super soft(normally its like horse hair!HAHA)

Ooooh, that sounds nice! I might have to try it. Do you condition afterwards, or just do the ACV rinse?
