C-sections

Planning ahead...

I will be having a c-section this time around since we dealt with shoulder dystocia with DD and I am terrified, but trying to plan and shop ahead.  Are there any particular items of clothing that would be best to have after a c-section?  And how long after until you are able to wear "normal" everyday clothing?  I am thinking my yoga pants will be helpful but I really don't want to live in them forever!  Are jeans a no no?  TIA!

Re: Planning ahead...

  • I wore yoga pants for the first week/week and a half. Then I wore my maternity jeans once or twice.

I was back in normal jeans by week 3.5

just pack pants that will go over  your incision.

  • I'm still in yoga pants. While I could probably wear jeans that were my size, my hips and belly are still too big for me pre-preg jeans. They might button but it would hurt like hell to sit or bend. And for perspective, I'm within 5 pounds of my pre-preg weight. My body just hasn't shifted back yet.

I have found a few pairs of cute shorts with an elastic waist at Target that I can wear so I'm not just in PJs all the time.

  • I wore yoga pants daily. Jeans aren't a no no, I just didn't have any that fit. Well, except for my maternity jeans, which I wore when I went out.

  • Thank you all for the responses, this is very helpful!  I will definitely keep the yoga pants and maybe get a couple more to be safe since it sounds like they are a staple.  :)  I was hoping that my maternity jeans might work as well until I am able to transition back into regular clothing so this gives me a good idea of what to expect.
