I love acu! I've been going once a week since stims on our second cycle. Even during resting months, I've continued going once a week. Also, my acu came to the clinic for ET, doing a treatment just before and immediately after. Highly recommend it! Be sure to go with someone who has experience in treating IF patients.
Baby girl Lila born 2013.
Baby boy Henry born 2015. Expecting our capstone baby (boy) early March 2018.
My RE recommended an Acu that specializes in IF, so I am good there. My procedure are 2 hrs away, which is where the Acu is, as well. Just trying to decide when to do the acu.

I started in July, a few weeks before IVF #1, and was told then that they need a few months time to work to possibly improve egg quality, but that it was still beneficial as it helps increase blood flow, relax you, etc. My acu recommended at least once a week for three months leading up to a cycle, and then a treatment pre and post transfer on the day of.
I noticed a huge change in my cycles during that time (went from 20-21 day cycles to almost 28 day cycles), so for me it really helped.

I started acu in Nov/2011, recommended by my RE. I go once a week for one hour and during IVF cycles I go twice a week while stimming and I also do acu before and after ET.
I enjoy acu, very relaxing, calming and I learn a lot from my acupuncturist.

I've done acupuncture off and on for over a year and love it. For my IVF, I went at the beginning of my cycle. I also went twice (I think 2 days apart) right before my ER.
There is definitely a difference between IF acupuncture or Chinese acupuncture and spa/relaxation acupuncture so make sure you pick someone with IF experience and a good reputation.
Good luck!

So if I was thinking of just doing the before/after transfer, it probably would not be beneficial. Hmm....
My acu had said to me that there is still benefit in just the day of treatment, and my RE recommended the day of at a minimum. MH and I decided to go full out, partly because my anxiety is so bad that we were hoping to help with that through my treatments too. I would say just the pre/post transfer would still be good!

So if I was thinking of just doing the before/after transfer, it probably would not be beneficial. Hmm....
Yes, there is a benefit. It slows/stops uterine contractions caused from the process of the transfer. It also increases blood flow through the body. You need a goid blood flow to aid with implantation.
I have been going on/off for over a year. Started back up yesterday, and am going twice this week and next. I need to make a return call to JillyChris's acu in San Diego to go the week I am there and again before/after me DE transfer.

Mallory is very fond of you and you are a good friend of the clinic ?? Thank you for the referral. I told them you are my friend incase they ask lol.
Thanks for posting this. We have a meeting with my RE tomorrow & I'm thinking about doing it this cycle also. I know she's very open to accu & even recs 2 specific practices in the state. I just wonder if she'd say yay or nay based on dx, etc. I hope it works for the both of us!
