IVF contest update

Hey ladies,

Last week I posted about apply for the contest to win a free IVF.  I have not had any spare time to work on a video, with the exception of brainstorming. This last week I spent my days off driving back and forth from Ut to ID to see my critically ill grandma before she died.  So between work and visiting my grandma and her passing away I just haven't had anytime.

So I am asking for your help!!  I have compiled a list of questions that DH and I will be asked for our "video interview."  I have a friend filming it, editing it with pics, video and music. We are working on it tonight and tomorrow afternoon, then submitting it tomorrow night.  Below is a list of questions DH and I have put together.

Please give me your input!  Be honest!  We really want to win.  If you have suggestions of questions or anything else DH and I would love the help.  <3

When did your know you wanted to be a parent?

When did you start trying?

What did you do to prepare to become a parent?

What have you learned in the process while ttc?

Who have been your strongest supporters?

What have you given up to become a parent?

Why do we deserve to win this contest??

What has been the most challenging for you in the process?

What do you find funny about the process?  (ex.  Preventing pregnancy before ttc? Forgetting my bc on my honeymoon)

What have you learned about each other as a couple?

What has been the most exciting part of the process?

I truly appreciate the opinion from you ladies.  Thank you so much, M

    Additional questions Dh has suggested:

    Where we are.

What steps have we taken to get to where we are at?

    Where we want be.

    What does the future hold?

    Why do we keep trying?

    Why we believe!

  • I think that is a great start. How about a little background of how you met,why he was the one, etc, just so people get to "know" you on a more personal level. It might help to tug at heart strings. You could even throw a few wedding photos in the video. I saw a video like this for a Russian Adoption fundraiser.

  • My thoughts of what makes you different from the regular IF couple:

Focus on how "regular" IFers get a dozen+ eggs and have such a better chance of success than you getting 1 or 2 eggs.  Being 31, your DOR is very rare and it is very painful to go through all this for 1 or 2 eggs.  Your chance of 1 egg being the winner is the best it will ever be as it will just get worse as you age--  waiting to save money to do another IVF hurts you as the eggs just keep depleting. You need to do IVF NOW to get the best chance of finding your golden egg.

(sorry if I am offending anyone by suggesting that you(with a different DX) can wait and she can't. I'm spinning it for a contest:-) )

I'm so sorry about your grandmother.

I am sorry about your grandmother too!  I like the suggestion McIrish gave.  I would also touch on what it would mean to you if you won (from an emotional perspective you can tie in future, current and where you were)

Good luck!!  Will you share it with us once it is done or will it be too personal?

I am AMA and all tests on H came back normal
3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013
    PAIF/SAIF always welcome

  • Sending you so, so much luck with this!! It looks like you kind of have this already, as the "what has been challenging" but definitely add in a question that gets to how hard emotionally and physcially this process is for you individually and you as a couple. I think it helps for others to "understand" why this process is so damn hard!

good luck. can't wait to see your video!

Good luck with your contest. I thought I would add my two cents and you are free to do with it whatever you desire! In most contests everyone is after the same goal (whether it is trying to win a new kitchen or bathroom). The goal obviously is to stand out and be different and obviously this is probably the most emotionally charged subject and contest. I like the question about "what has been the most exciting part of the process." It is positive and we all know this isn't a fun journey and can be filled with tons of heartbreak. I am wondering if you can add something that you have educated a lot of friends and strangers about IVF and how it can help you fulfill [your] dreams of parenthood. Since I know this is a contest and being given away by an IVF clinic who obviously wants the best out come for the couple and maybe some good PR.....it might be good to add that.

Feeling gratitute for having modern medicine in this day in age and the technology to help couples fulfill this is really an awesome thing.  Sorry I jumped in and I am not sure of the details of the contest so if I am off base....my apologies.

    Good luck!

  • I haven't been feeling very creative lately, but I just wanted to say good luck!  I hope you make it to the voting point!
