My baby girl was born on Monday at a whopping 10lb 11oz and got stuck under the pelvic bone resulting in a crazy delivery and shoulder dystocia. Now we have what looks like some nerve damage due to the craziness of getting her out. Anyone have a kiddo with this issue. I know there is huge spectrum of how kiddos recover from this or if they have permanent damage. Just looking for other mommas to connect with. lisa
I think there is a mom on either BOTB or 12-24 months or 24+ months that has a little one. She has an erb's palsey badge in her siggy, but I cannot remember her screen name.
Hey Imorgan, my son also had shoulder dsytocia and erb's palsy. I have a page on facebook.com/erbspalsy. There's also a great shoulder dystocia group you can ask to join, as it's private, but it provides great support - on https://www.facebook.com/groups/Shoulderdystocia/. Then there is another erb's palsy group I really like on https://www.facebook.com/groups/12911598441/
There is a lot of info on each of these groups, and they're totally worth joining.
My daughter is 4 months old and just started to lift her arm about a month ago. She still can not bend it against gravity. We go in 2 more months to see if she needs surgery. There should be a support group in CT where these kids and parents can get together every few months. I think it would be so beneficial to the babies and kids.
Re: Erb's Palsy anyone??
