Just got back from a doctor's appointment and heard the heartbeat for the first time!! 160bpm!

    Yay!  It's such a relief once you hear that heartbeat.  I have an appt tomorrow and I'm hoping they'll look for it on the Doppler.

    I pretty much demanded it. I had a miscarriage in November so I walked into her office and said "I NEED to hear the heartbeat!". I was going nuts with worry. You're far enough along that they should check for you (request it). It might take a while though, so be prepared for that. Good luck and have fun!

    YAY!!! So happy for us!! Such a relief and it just really solidifies the fact you're pregnant. My husband was in the office with me and, to be honest, I'm not sure he was convinced there was a baby in there until today :P

    I don't see why they wouldn't check, I mean you're already there and it takes about a minute or so...but like others have said, if they don't offer, demand it. lol

    HAHA I had my first appointment last week Thursday and the Dr used the doppler to listen for the heartbeat, after a long while of searching (and me starting to panic) she found it!  Such an amazing sound.  After the appointment I just kept thinking "there's a baby in my tummy!!!"  LOL  and this is the 2nd time around for me, you'd think it wouldn't be so surreal this time, but it's just as surreal as the first time.

    That's great. Nice and strong!

    We heard ours the first time on ultrasound. And then my next doctor's appointment, she was surprised we heard it so soon. She checked with the doppler, and there it was again! And she's done it automatically since then.
