Somehow made it to my consult and back even though I'm having the busiest week at work!
RE isn't necessarily opposed to us doing more IUI's but think's it make sense to be more aggressive. Their IVF stats are 44% success for my age range, live birth rate is 35%, but we won't dwell on that. They will start me out on an IVF drug protocol which would look like some estrogen supplementation right before my next period, (I think that's what he said) then 450 gonal and 200 menopur a day. OY VEY! That would pretty much be it. He thinks theres a very good chance I'll get 8-10 follicles on that protocal. He doesn't think we'll need ICSI, but we'll do another SA just in case and same w/ assisted hatching (mentally deducting $$$ signs in my head) but he said we'd sign the waiver on it just in case the embryologists needs to. He was very clear that if we do get too many follies we cannot move forward w/ an IUI cycle, we must do the IVF. I'm still unclear about the way this will be billed to my insurance, there was a little bit of a wink wink nod nod in regards to that, I'd love to stick my head in the sand about it, but I need it to crystal clear that this will proceed as an injectible cycle until further notice.
One thing that disturbed me is RE recommends transferring 3-4 embryos, the risk of multiples slightly horrifies me from a high risk pregnancy perspective, so we'd need to sleep on that one.I have a sonohystogram (spelling?) scheduled on Monday and then we'll be good to go at the end of June, barring a BFP this cycle!
My Ovulation Chart
Sounds like a good plan. The 35% includes lots of people who have worse chances than you so try not to worry about it.
I was in shock when I first heard at least 3 would be transferred for a 3 day transfer, but I got used to it. HOM are extremely unlikely at our age.
I hope it works out.
This. Sadly, at our age, a lot of them just aren't viable. But bottomline is you can choose to put back less. Totally your call on what you are comfortable with. Good luck!

I transferred 4 on day 3 - 3 8 cell grade 1 (highest) and 2, and 1 7 cell grade 2. Only one made it to implantation and even that one wasn't good enough to make a baby.
I would guess multiples are probably more likely for you than a typical 39 yo, dhreczuck, since you know you can get pregnant.
I know my eggs are crap. I had 4 and we transferred all 4 (3 were deemed good quality), only 1 stuck and that wasn't good enough to make a baby either. But do what you are comfortable with. It also depends on the quality of the embies at the time of transfer if you decide to put back more or less. Good luck and I'm glad you have a plan!

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)
