Hello, I'm new to this forum, and my husband and I have recently started actively trying to conceive. I have a few questions and hopefully they don't come across as silly or dumb. ![]()
So, my cycle is pretty regular. I get my period about every 30-33 days. My last one was on 5/20, and I have become fairly familiar with my cervical mucus and how it relates to my cycle. For 3 or 4 days I've been having very wet, egg whitish discharge which means I'm approaching ovulation or ovulating. Normally I get sore boobs about 10 days before my period arrives. Today they're slightly sensitive. My question is, if I start getting PMS symptoms only a few days after I ovulate, do the PMS symptoms automatically mean I'm not going to be pregnant that cycle? Because a few days isn't enough time for sperm to meet an egg, so is it even related? I understand sore breasts is a pregnancy symptom as well, but I wouldn't be getting symptoms this early.
Thanks for reading, and good luck to all ![]()
Re: Recently started TTC, a few questions!
I always get sore boobs and very sensitive sore nipples a few days past ovulation. Every single cycle. It eases up right before my period, and then disappears as soon as AF arrives.
As the PPs said, reading into "symptoms" is really easy when you start TTC. I began to notice every twinge, cramp, etc. my first cycle-- it's easy to feel like you're starting to go crazy!
I would suggest writing down your CDs and symptoms, or keeping track of them somehow, so that you can look back on what you've experienced in the past and then see how it turned out. And try to take each symptom with a grain of salt. Pregnacy symptoms, PMS symptoms, and even ovulation symptoms can be extremely similar.
Good luck & welcome!

After you ovulate your body produces more progesterone, which causes symptoms such as sore bbs, skin break outs, etc. Basically mild PMS symptoms. You become hyper aware of these syptoms during the 2WW as PP have said. PMS symptoms and PG symptoms are pretty identical, so you won't really know until you take an HPT around when your period is due. Your symptoms don't really have anything to do with sprem meeting egg or not. GL and I hope you see a BFP!
