So his movements are all up near the top now... very slow broad rolling like movements..i was kind of hoping this had meant he had flipped but not really sure what to expect, the U/S tech scared me a few weeks ago saying something like "Oh he still isn?t flipped??? Hmm... well C-sections aren?t that bad" .. I KNOW I shouldn?t take what a stupid tech said to heart but it made me worry, that he hadn?t flipped yet... but I read that they can flip at the last minute all the way up to delivery day.. so I?m not THAT worried.. but really want him to flip. How will I know he is flipped? How will i know for sure.. Or is this something i just have to wait because i also read that even if he flips he can very well flip right back...
Re: How will you know when he/she has flipped?
My doc told me not to worry about him flipping until about week 36-37. He was able to feel my stomach and tell me he was head down at my 34 week appointment. I wouldn't get too worried yet. I feel his hiccups very low now..that was my first indicator. Plus my bump has moved low as well. It's not high at all.
We learned through ultrasound and because they saw he was head down, were able to tell me what to expect from movements from a head down baby. I get a back/booty around my belly button all the time and the hiccups are very low and to the left.
One of my friends had a doctor feel her stomach and tell her the baby was head down, only for ultrasound to show otherwise.
I've also heard that you should pay attention to where the doppler finds the heartbeat when you're at your doctor's appointments. That will give you a sense of where the baby's heart is, at least, which in combination with other signs may help you determine how the baby is positioned.
Also, I've been feeling light, ticklish movements occasionally down near my pelvis, and I've heard that could indicate the hands.
I also read that if you feel a big bulge, and you gently push on it, if it's the head it will likely move all by itself, but if it's the butt you may feel the whole baby move (because the butt doesn't move independently of the back/legs).

Worked for me. Possible he can flip back after being in position, but not likely. Its not something you want to go crazy over, but if you suspect he's not in position now, why wait?? Do what you can now. Hip rotations and good posture also helps; avoid siting in banana positions and always sit with your hips higher than your legs. A birth ball/weighted exercise ball does the trick very well to sit on when you're home. Avoid the oh so comfy sofa where you will tend to slouch and ruin your posture (this is the hardest for me, as I just want to lounge on my couch after a long day.)
