My son pees outside of his diaper at least once a day. It ends up all over his back. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, and it happens with several types of diapers. Help!
Is his penis always pointing down? If it's going any other way, it can result in out-of-diaper pee. Also, do you have the edges of the diaper on the leg part out? Ugh, does that make sense? You know, the "ruffles." If those are tucked in, they can also leak.

All of this I have to fluff the ruffles every diaper. My babies have skinny legs once they chunk up a bit it's not a problem but until then fluff away.
Okay this is going to sound like a "duh" comment, but make sure that the diaper is tight enough, especially if using huggies! We had a few huggies diapers and it took like 3 times to realize we had to make them just a little tighter than pampers in order to avoid being peed on!
I had this same issue! Then I went up a size in diapers from newborn to a 1 and haven't had a leak since!
This! After 3 leaks (all up the back) in one day I switched to size one and we've been fine. The newborn still fit him, but we needed the extra absorbency of the size ones.
Re: Diaper question for moms with boys
If you circ'd him, and you're still in the healing days, the ointment makes his diaper water proof. But, like PP said, winky pointing DOWN!
This!!! I learned the hard way haha

We also just went up to size 1 diapers and so far so good!
