Question regarding snap downs

DD leaked a WHOLE lot last night in her tots bots (double hemp layered). She is 18 mos, 33 inches and 17 lbs and I have her on the medium/ second snaps. The diapers are new and I prepped them by running 6 wash cycles (not drying), so I think they are prepped. She doesn't really drink anything 35 mins before bed (potty training), but drank milk right before bed so I put her in a diaper expecting her to pee. My question is do you think it was the medium setting on the snaps, or that she peed all at once? Or the diaper wasn't prepped?

We could unsnap the diaper completely but I just use the medium since she's in that recommended weight range and there are no red marks on her legs.

    A couple thoughts- 

    Hemp is very slow to absorb liquid. Did you only use hemp? Or was there another fiber such as cotton or MF that was closer to LO's bum?

    Are those CDs natural fibers? If so, dry them after every wash to prep them. If not, you only need to wash and dry once.

    Hey guys, I thought I included that it was a Tots Bots Easy Fit version one.

    According to the Bummi's website, it seems as though it's 70% Bamboo, soooo I guess I need to prep more. I had no idea, it would not absorb the pee at all if it was prepped incorrectly.

    You did mention the brand. I'm just not very familiar with those so I thought I'd ask. :)

    I hope it's just the prepping that's the problem. That's easy to solve. Just make sure you dry every time. GL!

    Tots Bots Easy Fits make a better day nappy than a night nappy. Tots Bots do a fitted diaper called Bamboozle Stretch that are better suited for night. I don't think you've done anything wrong, I just think the Easy Fits aren't quite up to the job. We get leaks from those during the day after just a few hours!

    She usually doesn't fill up a diaper that size, and like I said I double hemp layered it. Last night, we used an older tots bots and it went well. Thanks for the help...I also am on wash/ dry #2 for the others lol. I line dry so it takes a while.

    Hmm, maybe she did  just peed all at once, then? That could make sense if you boosted with hemp since that absorbs more slowly. Are you using the newer minky style Easyfits or the bamboo/microfiber ones? I've heard the new Easyfits are actually more absorbent than the old (we haven't gotten on well with the old, we get wicking no matter how much we boost!)  I'm impressed you're able to use an Easyfit at night! We have to use a huge fitted boosted with a hemp doubler!
