LO has been a TERRIBLE sleeper for a while now- we went in for his 4 month checkup today and his pedi prescribed Zantac for possible reflux. I'm wondering what other peoples experiences are with it? Did it help? How long until you noticed a differnce? Right now I'd sell my soul for a couple of hours of uninterupted sleep!

Ds went on Zantac at 7 weeks. It helped his discomfort right away. But the spitting up didn't subside for a while. Neither did the night wakings. It has gotten a lot better in the past month for sure. I pulled him from his crib at 8 weeks b/c he would spit up every time I laid him flat. He just graduated from the rnp last week and is doing great now. Hang in there! I hope it gets better for you both.
It worked wonders with my son, who has been on it since he was 4 weeks old. Yes, it does have to be adjusted as they gain weight, but that's not a big deal...it works! I saw a bit of a difference within a few days and by a week on it a huge difference. He has begun spitting up a lot again, but he's not in pain from it any longer and his dose is adequate for his weight and while that's not ideal, the main thing is that he's gaining like a champ and he's not in pain, which means the reflux isn't causing damage to his esophagus.
My first was on Prevacid, which also worked just not as well, but she would fight taking it, spit it out, etc. (which my second did at first with the Zantac, but he got over that and now he actually reaches for the medicine syringe and puts it in his mouth himself).
