There's a dead chipmunk

In my dogs pool...... I noticed her (dog) approach it with caution so I went to make sure it wasn't a bird. Nope, the chipmunk that's been laughing at dh for a year seems to have committed suicide.. Poor little guy, he must've heard dh say he was going to catch it and just gave up. 

 

I feel like there should be a funeral for him.

    My dad had a long time battle with a squirrel.  He was trying to keep the squirrel from eating the bird food he had set out.  He set it up in so many different ways and the squirrel made it onto the bird house every time, lol!  He finally gave it up to the squirrel.

    thats sad... what kind of dog do you have?  did she want to play with it?

    we taught our boxer to hunt moles (its rather hysterical, and i'm so proud of him when he catches them, regardless how dug up the yard gets).   Sigmund gets really sad though after he catches them and it doesnt want to run around and "play" with him.  he'll lay next to it with his nose to it and give me those puppy dog eyes because it wont play with him anymore.  :(
