Late Term and Child Loss

Gallstones!!!! :-(

I woke up this morning with so much pain in my back and at the top of my stomach.  I tried going to work but threw up on the way do I called out.  I went back home because I thought it was food poisoning and tried to lay down for a little but that didnt help at all!!!  So I called my Dr. And was told to go to the ER.  Went there and after like 3 hours I finally got pain meds and something for my nausea then had an ultrasound.  I have 2 stones and the biggest one is 1.6cm.  I have never had surgery and I have never been under anesthesia and I am so scared!!!

First I lose my DS and almost a month later I'm back at the hospital I had him in and having surgery tomorrow :-(.   What did I do that was so bad that I'm being punished right now?????  :-(

  • Aw!!! I'm sorry you are going through this!

I had gallstones and my gallbladder removed so I know how you feel.  Like you, I had initially thought it was food poisoning.

Hope your surgery and recovery goes well!

  • Ugh.  I'm so sorry!  I totally hear you on this one.  About 5 weeks after our loss I had terrible kidney stones, same type of symptoms.  It's awful to feel like after everything we've been through we have to deal with such physical pain as well.  Hope you're on the mend soon!

  • Thank you everyone!  I'm still waiting to meet te surgeon and find out when my surgery is.  The nurses have no idea and the wait is killing me.  I haven't eaten since Sunday and can't eat until after the surgery!  I can't even have water!!!

I talked to my ob/gyn yesterday because today was my 4 week check-up and told him the situation.  I asked if he can do my check-up in the hospital and he said he would stop by.  Then I asked him if the autopsy results were in and the prelimianry results were in and, like I thought, they showed nothing and everything looked normal.  The final results won't be in for a few weeks but I have a feeling they will say the same thing and I will never know what happened to my DS. :-(

  • I am so sorry you are going through this. I have been dealing with kidney stones this year (I've passed 3 I think already in 2012). This is not your fault. I have read/heard that your grief can manifest itself in many ways, and can affect your health. After a meaningful loss, people tend to get sick more often or more significantly sick than they previously had. I hope everything goes smoothly with your surgery. You are in my thoughts.

J&M, I just want to give you hugs. *HUGS*

As far as what happened to you son, try to find your own closure. I know a few Angel Moms on here have had a similar experience where they didn't know what happened to their baby and there were no answers given.

  • Thank you everyone!!!  Surgery went well!  I had a little mini meltdown right before going in but I don't remember a thing after the mask was put ion me.  Now the recovery starts!  I just took some percocets so we will see how that works since Ive never taken them...and I was finally able to eat!!!  :-)

  • I am so sorry. That is too much right now! But you did nothing bad, I know it's hard, but you did nothing to deserve any of this. I hope surgery goes well. We will be thinking of you. ((HUGS))
