With DS I used both quite frequently. He loved his swing and when he was just chillin I used the bouncy. Then when he was too big for the swing I used the stationary jumper!

We used both A LOT with DS. DS would only sleep in the swing at night for probably the first 4 months of his life. He would only nap in the bouncy seat (while I sat and bounced him) for a long time. Both were a life saver!
I have both from DD1 and they were both very useful. At first DD hated the bouncer, but then some days she would hate the swing. The bouncer was also nice to bring into the bathroom if I needed to shower and she was awake.
The bouncy seat came in handy when I took a shower...I'd sit DD in it in our bathroom so I could keep an eye on her and play peek-a-boo if she fussed. I also used it at other times but remember the bathroom being a great place...
At first didn't register for the swing (because I thought my sister was going to give me hers)...but ended up buying one with the gift cards we had gotten...it was a lifesaver for naps...she wasn't great at being layed down in her crib for a nap...so would often use the swing as a place to get her to sleep...
As a STM, I say both. We kept the swing in the living room since it was bigger. I used the bouncy chair a lot for when I was showering so I could have DS right there. The bouncy chair is also very portable, so you can take it with you somewhere, take it outside, ect.

I chose both. But the swing i registered for actually can be either a swing or bouncer. Yay for dual purpose!
Can you share what it is you registered for exactly? We can't seem to find a swing that we really like, but found a bouncer. 2 in 1 would be great! Thanks!
I registered for both, because you never know which the baby will prefer. But for the swing I registered for a side to side motion swing because that is the more natural motion of the two swing options. So logically more comforting, but babies can be specific and particular. I was told I preferred the bouncy seat, but I was also a colic-y baby so that makes sense. I went for both just to be safe
