Cloth Diapering

What laundry soap do YOU recommend?

I feel really overwhelmed... I can't believe how much info. is out there.  I've done my research and read more reviews than I count.  I'm leaning towards charlie's soap.

I'm just curious, what do you use?

  • Tide (Ultra) 2 Tbsp per load (Top loader)

    RNG was AWFULLLLLLL for us.

All F&C caused build up and stink.

Wasn't a fan of All Free & Clear either, but I'm loving Tide Ultra-- it's easy to find, my diapers get nice and clean, and we have no stink issues.

  • I am literally just starting CDing, like tomorrow, but I bought Charlies Soap.  I really love it for clothes, so I will see how it goes for CDs too. My head has been spinning from all the research too!

  • Country Save - a local cloth diaper ship recommended. I can find it at our natural food grocery store. Works for us. All you can do is try it and see if it works! :-)
  • Tide Ultra original powder HE
  • I switched to RnG a few months ago and we are having lots of problems with ammonia stink. We just switched to a top loader so I am going to strip once more and see what happens. If the stink returns we're switching back to Tide Ultra.

  • I didn't mind RNG, except I hate having to order it. We are using Tide now and haven't had any problems. I like that I can get it with my groceries. My son was allergic to Tiny Bubbles.

  • Biokleen - diapers come out fresh and snowy white.  Makes the laundry room smell fresh too.

We first tried Charlie's.  It was ok but not great.

Next was RnG.  The classic worked at first but we switched to Hard ROck and it was a disaster!  We switched back to classic and it was bad too.

Then we tried EcoSprout.  This was amazing!  We used it for over a year with no issues whatsoever.

We currently use Ecos b/c it's cheaper than EcoSprout and we use it for all our laundry.  I think it works just as well as EcoSprout and it's less than 1/4 the cost!

  • The best thing you can do is find a cding mom in your area and ask what they use.

We use dropps free and clear, 2 packets per load.

  • Tiny Bubbles = super awesome

    Charlies w/calgon = super awesome

    Charlies without calgon - good

Tide- haven't tried but i have some in the laundry room just in case.

  • Soap nuts. Work well for me,no need for extra rinses.
  • RnG worked well for us in our front loader HE machine.

RubyMoon leaves stains and I am going to have to "bleach" them in the sun.
