Trying to Get Pregnant

Loaded Post... EWCM or preseed, BBT, and OPKs

I can't tell if my CM this afternoon is EW or preseed that hasn't made its way out from last night. How should I chart this? Also, any thoughts as to why my BBT took a dip a could days ago? I realize it could be a number of reasons, but I've been very careful about consistency when testing this cycle. AND last but not least, do you use digital OPKs with your FMU? Or do you use them mid-day?

Thanks ladies!

Re: Loaded Post... EWCM or preseed, BBT, and OPKs

  • I can't help you with the CM thing because I don't use lube, so I don't know what it looks like coming out (or that it even comes out, for that matter)

It's not really recommended to use FMU for OPKs because the LH usually isn't built up in FMU.  I usually use my second pee of the day for my first OPK .

  • My general rule is that I won't check my CM until it's been 12 hours + after using Preseed or BD. If it's been 12 hrs + then I would chart it as EW.

    I don't chart so I can't help you there.

As for OPKs, it's not recommended to use FMU since it takes a little while for the hormone to accumulate. I test between 2/3pm and then again at 7pm until I get a positive.

  • Can you stretch what you think might be EWCM?  If so, I would think it wouldnt be preseed (at least my preseed doesnt stretch).  So if has been a while since you used the preseed and the CM stretches, I would chart EW.  As for the temp dip, not sure as to why...but it probably doesnt matter a whole lot because you havent O'd yet.  I'm not of much help with the digi OPKs, but I use the Wondfos with FMU all the time and havent had a problem catching a surge.

    Hope some of that helps!

I can't tell if my CM this afternoon is EW or preseed that hasn't made its way out from last night. How should I chart this? I would chart this as EWCM, I doubt there would be much lube left after over 12 hours and EWCM and lube don't have the same consistency.  EWCM should be stretchy.

Also, any thoughts as to why my BBT took a dip a could days ago? I realize it could be a number of reasons, but I've been very careful about consistency when testing this cycle. Probably a random dip in your chart.

AND last but not least, do you use digital OPKs with your FMU? Or do you use them mid-day? I used digi OPKs this cycle and used them with FMU and mid day.  I got positives with both.  If you are only testing once a day (not recommended) I would test mid day, that is usually when I get my first +.

    Thanks ladies!
