39 week appointment

So I had my 39 week appointment today and I was really hoping for some sort of progress.  He checked my cervix and he said it was completely shut, not even a sign of it starting to open.  And on top of it he said I had a yeast infection.  I?m starting to feel really hopeless.  I really don?t want to go past my due date and I know I shouldn?t complain and let the baby come out when he?s ready but I?ve been on bedrest for weeks and I?m just flat out uncomfortable.  I go back to the doctor next Monday (my due date) and he said we?d go from there.  I haven?t felt the slightest bit of anything that would be contractions yet either and have only had BH a couple times and wasn?t anything that lasted.  Anyone one else at this point and still having no progress?

    I have been only 1 cm from weeks 36-40.  I am so sorry you are so uncomfortable.  I know how annoying it is to hear you aren't making any progress.  I hope your body speeds up and your next appointment goes better!

    I had zero progress when I went to be induced w/ DD at 41 weeks.  I didn't want that to happen again.  My SIL suggested eating pineapple.  Supposedly it softens the cervix.  She ate 2 pineapples in 2 days after being over due and went into labor the 3rd day.  I thought it could have been coincidence but figured it couldn't hurt. 

    At 37 weeks I had zero progress.  I ate pineapple that week and at my 38 week appt I was at 2 cm!  I didn't eat any pineapple after that and was still just 2 cm at my 39 week appt.  Pineapple is the main food on this week's menu.  We'll see what the Dr has to say at my 40 week appt Thurs.  Assuming I don't go before than.

    So..  I would say snack away on some fresh pineapple.  It couldn't hurt and it is delicious!

    my 39th week appointment is coming up next week. My cervix has been closed shut since my doctor last checked me at 35 weeks. Its only a little soft and definetly no progress at all.

    Try not to be too discouraged.  With my DS, I was MAYBE 1cm and not softened at all on a Thursday and then Friday night my water broke.  The state of your cervix at a doctor's appointment really has nothing to do with when your body will decide to go into labor.

    Going by my ultrasounds, my due date is June 23rd (which is what my ticker reflects), but going by my LMP it's June 17th. Today (at my 37/38 week appointment) my doctor acknowledged that it is a 6 day difference, but she was going to use June 17th but not consider me overdue until after the 23rd (so she won't suggest induction until June 30th). She doesn't do internal checks but DH asked how she felt about my due date and the actual birth date and she said she sees no signs of labour other than the baby's head being almost fully engaged. She thinks I'll go to term or later. Ugh! In fact, she said we won't even discuss delivery until next week. All she said was that If anything happens, just go to emergency and the will take me through to L&D.
