Okay, I'm just going to say that I wanted a boy so badly but naming him is the hardest thing ever! My hubby is no help either, he just says yay or nay. So, please give me your opinions on the ones I've come up with and any suggestions will help. Oh, and I LOVE Rock Star names, btw.
I will star (*) my faves.
*Axl
*Blaze or Blaise

Re: Boy names are SO hard!
It looks like we might have similar style. I do like quite a few of your names. I have bolded my favorites. I totally agree that boys are impossible to name! I can find plenty that I "like", but none that I really love. Good luck to you!
This.
I have the opposite problem, girls' names are impossible for me!
Most of your list is NMS but I like:
Axel (spelled this way)
Blaine
Asher
Gavin
A lot of the rest I think are way too masculine/intense to suit, say, a quiet bookish boy. When I pick a name for my child I try to imagine if the name would suit the star quarterback as well as the shy wallflower, to make sure it will fit his possible future personality.
But that's just me ;-)
Lol, this is kind of where I'm at too but I dont like Gavin either.

I think the only name I like is Gavin. Its ok but your others are way out there for me. NMS at all.
Names you might like Zander, Holdyn, Lincoin - that are out there- but some what more not seriel killer names. lol.
Personally I really don't like Slade!
Lennox, Gavin, Dax are nice!
Many of your names make it look like you're trying too hard to be cool or something. Maybe they're just not my style. Some of the names I could probably get behind are: Blaise, Cade, Asher, Lennox, and Gavin.
Lennon is actually a guilty pleasure of mine, but it's not something I would ever use in real life. As much as I love the Beatles, I think it's kind of lame to name your child after such an obvious celebrity (same goes for many of the other names you listed).
I can't get beyond the Saved by the Bell refernce with Slater.
Gable is actually my maiden name (spelled slightly differently), and it never occured to me as a first name. I guess it just feels kinda weird to me. Plus, it means fork in German. So, kind of a weird meaning for a first name.
Jax, Dax, and Kaz seem incomplete to me.
This, except I also like Asher
My least favorites on your list are Blaze, Slade, Slate and Kaz. These are less rock star-y and more American Gladiator, IMO. I don't think I've ever seen Gable, but I think I could get behind it. Asher would probably be my next choice.
Other names I feel give off a rock star / badasss vibe: Ace, River, Morris, Enzo, Oscar/Ozzy, Mac...
Good luck!
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.

Well, our styles are polar opposite (I like classic, preppy)... But from your list I like:
Blaise, Kenton, Gavin, and Asher. I have a special place in my heart for Axl (great grandfather Axel), but I wouldn't ever use it.

*Axl - LOVE
*Blaze or Blaise - PLEASE No.
Blaine - NO
*Zayne - No
Kade - YES. Love
Asher - No
*Slade - Yes
Slater - Okay
Slate - No
Lennon - No
Jax - No
Lennox - No
Gable - No
Dax - No
Kaz - No
Denton - No
Kenton - Okay
Gavin - I love.
*Axl - Makes me think of Axl Rose and that's not a good thing for me, even though I do like GnR
*Blaze or Blaise - I like, but don't love
Blaine - I don't care for this name, as I think it sounds feminine
*Zayne - LOVE as I just named my son Zane. (I wouldn't use the Y spelling though; makes a cool guy name seem more feminine)
Kade - I don't care for this name, but I'm not sure why.
Asher - nice name, but NMS
*Slade - I don't care for this name.
Slater - I don't care for this name. It reminds me of Saved by the Bell.
Slate - same comment as for Slater.
Lennon - nice name, but NMS and I wouldn't name my son after John Lennon.
Jax - LOVE
Lennox - I don't care for this name. It sounds feminine to me because of the glassware.
Gable - I don't care for this name.
Dax - Like a lot.
Kaz - I don't care for this name.
Denton - nice name, but NMS
Kenton - I don't care for this name.
Gavin - ok, but NMS and too popular for me.
Most of these are NMS, but I don't mind Gavin, Asher, and Blaine... and I actually really like Gable for some reason (that's probably my favorite). My great-great grandfather's MN was Gable, FN James.
I agree with PPs that some of these like Slate, Slater, Axel (prefer it spelled this way!), and Blaze are hyper-masculine and probably wouldn't work for certain personality types.

In order from left to right from their pictures below:
Cheyanna, Macie, Taylor and Lil James
Cheyanna and Macie are my girls I birthed but Taylor and James are from my husbands previous but I raise them as mine, as their real mama is out of the picture.
AND thanks to each of you for all your opinions. I'm not by any means "trying to hard", like someone mentioned above, this is just what I like. When my first two daughters were born, I was 16 and 19, so times have changed and this is my very own boy. The names I picked were just some I ran across but I do favor AXL and Slade (maybe Sladen) a lot and it's not because of Guns n Roses either, nor actually are any of the rest of the names I picked. IMO, I wouldn't be naming my kid after anyone, just a name I like that has an edge.
But, I will say it's really nice getting each of your opinions. I really appreciate them! Keep um' coming
Same here. I think of Asher as a traditional name because it's biblical, even though it's not all that common; I was actually rather surprised to see it on your list because to me it doesn't fit with your style, but since my naming style is quite different from yours, Asher is definitely my favorite.
The only one I kind of like is Blaise, because it is a saint's name. We have very different taste. I'm not trying to prove my sons' masculinity with their names. Your list gives me that impression, even if it isn't your intent.
Kaz is my step g-ma's nn, short for Kazuko. DS1 had a boy named Kaz in his nature preschool class. I'd avoid this name if you aren't Japanese-American.
My favourites are Asher, Lennon, Lennox & Dax. I don't think they are too try hard at all. The world would be a pretty boring place if everyone liked the same name!
Your children are absolutely gorgeous.
You are by far my favorite post! I was getting a little annoyed that people were saying I was trying too hard or that they weren't cool enough for names like those. I love different names. There is not one single Cheyanna or Macie at my kids school. My name is Alana and when I was coming up, I was the only one I ever knew with that name, until I became an adult. This is what I love; being different. NOT trying too hard. So what if my little boy is a nerd?! He can still have a name like Axel or Slade.
and thank you so much, as well as everyone else!
Your kids are beautiful!
From your list I like Gavin, Dax and Asher. I think Gavin and Asher blend best with your other kids' names. Ultimately, I think I'd go with Gavin.
Suggestions:
Zeke (Ezekiel)
Rocco
Finn
Flynn
Felix
Ezra
Drew
Reid
Oscar
Yes he will
Thanks!!
I LOVE Ezra and it was on my list too but my hubby doesn't really like it. Plus, I know a girl with a kid named that BUT she's not a close friend, just someone I know from high school. and thank you
I Love Lennon! Gavin is nice too but at least by where I live, northeast, it is quite popular so I just thought I'd mention since you seem to want unique. I know an Axel that is both a genious and edgy so to me it would fit anyone- I like it.
Other names I like that I thought were edgy or not too popular- Laird, Jude, Van (nn for Donovan), Jett
