Trying to Get Pregnant

Question for you Clomid users out there...

Hey ladies, quick question. I'm about to start my first round of clomid (for days 5-9 of the coming up cycle) and I'm wondering what the actual side effects will be? I've googled it, and they seem mild, but from what I've read-admittedly by lurking on here Stick out tongue- the mood swings can be kind of crazy...? What are some real expectations that I should have?

Hope you guys are having a great day!

  • My main side effect from my 1st round of Clomid was exhaustion.  The nurse told me that wasn't a common one though.  I also had low grade headaches pretty much the entire time that started to get a little worse towards the end of the 5 days... nothing too bad though.

  • Definitely tired and major ass sweating at night. You can prob curb the tiredness by taking it at night.

W/ my first cycle on Clomid I was very emotional, had a lot of hot flashes and headaches. W/ my second cycle I had no s/e. Everybody is different.

Did you have an HSG and CD3 b/w? Did your DH have a SA? Are you being properly monitored (CD3 b/w & u/s, mid cycle u/s and 7dpo b/w). Are you seeing an RE/fertility specialist?

These ar standard questions when somebody asks about Clomid because it is a very serioud drug that needs to be properly monitored, and many people aren't. If you answered no to any of the above questions don't take Clomid.

    Good Luck.

Piping in to say ditto to SweetC!   Please get the proper testing with an RE before taking this drug if you have not already.

As for side effects, I had hot flashes and one or two mood swings per cycle (clomid rage!)

  • I had none. Zip. Zilch. No side effects at all.

But it was also my first cycle and I've heard that they get worse the longer you take it.

Good luck! I hope its not too bad for you!
