I both chuckled and shook my head that my c-section was being reviewed by the insurance company to validate that it was a medically necessary procedure. The amount of proof they are requesting from the OB's office is ridiculous. I wasn't laboring, had NO amniotic fluid left and the baby was breech and had the cord around her neck twice. Even my auto mechanic wouldn't question the medical necessity of a c-section in this case.
To add to the head shake towards my insurance company: my doc had prescribed two Diflucan pills to help prevent an infection in my incision. They would only fill one pill at a time since it's usually a one-dose med. Not only did I have to request a refill and make another trip to the pharmacy, but the insurance company had to pay two fees to the pharmacy instead of one. Sorry, but I'm taking my meds as my doc prescribed not how you want to save money.
Dopey insurance company. *shaking my head again*
