Tricare Prime Remote & perinatal specialists
does prime remote cover perinatal specialists? i have an appt at the end of the month and wanted to know if it's covered through tricare. My PCP is supposed to send an authorization to my OB to send the the perinatal specialist so does that mean that TPR will cover it? I'm so confused and still a bit new to the military life and how everything goes.

I see a perinatologist that my OBGYN referred me to. My OB and perinatologist are both covered under tricare prime. As long as your OB or PCM sent you to them or you get a referral it should be ok. Make sure it is Tricare PRIME and not Standard!!! Your OB should know your insurance and make sure that the perinatologist is also covered.
So the answer is Yes, as long as they are under Tricare Prime.
