New to The Bump

Not TTC - Yet!

Fiance and I are getting married on August 4th. We just bought a house, both have full time jobs, and we're both looking forward to getting to the point where we can TTC.

We're young - 21 and 22, but we're very mature and sure of our goals. We have stable full time jobs that we enjoy, a beautiful brand new house, and lots of love. Neither of us had "good" upbringings, so we're looking forward to having children of our own. Everytime we have a "scare" we get more and more excited about the idea of actually being pregnant.

We've watched family members get pregnant while young and dumb and knew we didn't want to be like that. We're doing things in order, responsibly. Not sure how long we'll wait after getting married. Could be anywhere from right away to a year after before we start trying. There are perks to both, I think.

Anyway - I'm excited at the idea of finally being able to even THINK about babies. Just worried about the financial aspect of it, really.

I'm Allie, by the way - Looking forward to posting/lurking around here!

Re: Not TTC - Yet!

  • Welcome!  I am new as well, and we literally just decided to start trying.  It sounds like you and your fiance are on the same page about TTC which is always a good start!  The best of luck, keep us posted on when you start to try.

The one bit of advice I'll pass along from my weeks of reading these boards - start becoming aware of your cycle.  I don't know if you're on BCP or anything, but it couldn't hurt to get an idea for when you might be ovulating so you can dive right into TTC.

    Best wishes! Big Smile
