We just got through her birthday and we have toys out the wazoo. My friend asked me what she should get her, and I joked "empty tissue box, water bottles, plastic bag?"
As a joke, created these water bottles that had different things in it - one had dish soap, so when you shook it, it created bubbles, another one had glitter in it, and one had some kind of oil/water thing that separated. Caps were superglued on.
Sure enough, Elena walks around all day with one in her hand. She loves it! sigh
What is your baby's favorite toy these days?

That is really cute! I might try the bottle idea for DS. My LO never really showed preference over a toy so now I'm happy to finally see him show preference. He loves his table/piano he loves flicking the banjo handle he waddles side to side when the banjo starts to play. He's really into cars now, he grabs anything and moves it back and forth making a car sound and loves to run things over with his dump truck. And books, he could sit there for hours "reading" and pointing to the pictures.

Pretty much anything that she can hold onto, and put someplace else. She loves sticking her toys in other containers--my purse, boxes, diaper bags...etc
Right now, it's a balloon. They love that it rolls like a ball and is light and easy to throw into the air. It's been around since Mother's Day (it's not a helium balloon). I think they'll die when it finally pops.
Oh, and they've always loved paper. Of any variety.
The Little Tykes shopping cart is a big hit right now since she's getting really close to walking.
She also loves my keys, my purse, my cell phone and the newspaper.
