What book are you reading?

I just finished the fifty shades trilogy. Any recs?

Re: What book are you reading?

  • I'm reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King and it's awesome.  It's not an "easy" read since it's nearly 1000 pages, but it's so worth it!

  • I'm in the middle of book three of Fifty Shades. Going to try again with Hunger Games trilogy and see if I can get into it. I need to read The Help too. I have so many books in my house that are unread. If you like Ellen you should read her latest book. It's really funny.

  • I'm on the 3rd book of the 50 shades triology... I have been less than impressed.

I just finished A discovery of Witches about a month ago and I liked it, the second book is supposed to come out in July I think.

I also just got done with Magic Bites, the first in a series.  It was alright.

I also just got done with the entire Eragon series (YA dragon books) it was a pretty good series but I was miffed at the last book.

I read A Handmaid's Tale earlier this year and it was thought provoking.  Not a fluff read by any means.

I'm in the middle of The Historian right now and I am enjoying it.  I started it about 5 years ago and only got about 150 pages in because I got busy but I'm glad I picked it up again.

Oh no!  We got this book to listen to on our upcoming drive home!

I just started The Good Girl's Guide to Great Sex.

The Help was the last book I read. I loved it!

  • I'm reading the last book in The Hunger Games series and Swamplandia!  For all the hype/rave review, Swamplandia! isn't that great IMO.  HG series is a fun, easy read.

  • I just finished the 50 Shades trilogy on Saturday and now I'm eager to get back into my kind of reading.  But I haven't quite decided what yet.

I'm not sure many of his books come in too far under the 1000 page count.  Okay so maybe some do...usually the short stories...but if they're good, they're right around 1000 pages.

  • Twilight - New Moon EmbarrassedStick out tongue  I decided to read what inspired the 50 shades trilogy after I finished those. lol.

Up next: Divergent (another distopian type society book a la Hunger Games)

  • I just finished the 3rd hunger games book last night. I started "I hope they serve beer in hell." kind of a frat guy book about hijinks in drinking.

  • If you're into YA, I just started reading Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein. It's about a young Scottish female spy in WWII who gets captured by the Nazis. I cannot put it down!

I really liked Bringing Up Bebe by Pamela Druckerman when I read it a couple of months ago. It's a non-fiction about an American woman raising her children in Paris and the differences she encountered. It's not all "blah blah French everything is better" like I thought it might be--she actually criticized the French way of doing things a fair bit. But it had some good tips that I'm planning to use!

I'm still working on Bringing Up Bebe, it's good, I just haven't had much time to read lately.
