when can I take a bath?

My Dr never told me, So I have been taking showers ..just wondering. Showers get old...I have stitches too, disolvable ones, and I had my baby vaginally.

    Call to verify, but should be able to now. I mean, you have to sit in a sitz bath for 20 minutes 3x a day right? So maybe substitute one sitz bath for a regular bath. I found it painful to sit in the tub, though. My skid marks hate the pressure.

    My doc said I could take one once I got home from the hospital. I also got stitches.

    I had a c-section and got the okay to take a bath at my 2-week check.

    This is interesting... I have no 2 week check..Dr said she wanted to see me in 6 weeks..

    Are you still bleeding?? I couldn't imagine taking a bath while bleeding.

    C-sections see there doctors earlier. If you delivered vaginally then it's 6 weeks. I would check with your doctor about baths. Each one is different. My doctor said no baths until he cleared me. It's been so hard! 

    I had a c section and going back for a 6 week check up....so not all c sections go back earlier

    That's usually only for episotomies, skid marks (hurt like a MOFO!!!), tearing or hems. The sitz bath eases the pain and swelling. Not all doctors do it. I had a not quite a 3 but more than a 2 episiotomy and lots of stitches. I've found at least two skid marks. With DD, I couldn't pee without the sitz bath and the peri bottle for a week. This one isn't quite so bad, but I'm loving my sitz bath since I can't sit in the tub.

    I actually bought a sitz bath at the suggestion of Lucie's List and took it back unopened today. We just recently bought a removable shower head so I just clean & rinse whenever I'm in the shower (1-2 times a day).

    My doctor said no baths and nothing in my va-j-j. I have a 3-week checkup on Wednesday and I'll be excited to see what I get cleared for! 

    First came love, then came marriage - Oct 31, 09
    Then came a miscarriage March '11
    Then came a baby in the baby carriage May 16, 12

    Waiting on our second little peanut!
