Can I Eat?

Hello Everyone, I am pretty new at this site and I just found our I am pregnant. Very Exciting news. I love to eat anything that is spicy. Hot Sauce of all sorts. Is this bad for the baby?

Thanks

Re: Can I Eat?

  • It might be bad for your heartburn later, but it is perfectly fine during your pregnancy!

  • Girl, I love the spice!  I eat spicy foods almost every day whether it's hot sauce, red pepper flakes, curry or chili peppers.  When pregs with DD I ate a lot of spicy.  In the third trimester I only had heartburn a handful of times but when I did have it wooo it was bad.  It's hard when you crave the spice and can't fulfill the craving because you fear the burn.  With this pregs so far so good.

  • Hahah I crave buffalo wings all the time and spicey mexican food!

I get heartburn from toast so I figure I am going to get it any way and might as well eat what I want:)

    Enjoy the spice!

  • When I first found out( & even before) I wanted hot sauce on EVERYTHING!!! I even put it on a salad one day instead of dressing. One day I was eating something, with hot sauce on it, & I got to my last bite & almost hurled!! It just didn't sound good at all anymore! So it may pass, but if you can handle it...go for it!
  • Yeah, Im mexican so Spicy is my thing.. I appreciate everyones imput. Now I can relax and eat it freely and really just watch the heartburn. I wanted to just make sure it wouldn't affect the baby in any way.. :)
