CD Moms: I'm a genius! ...and an idiot...

First for the smart part: I was hanging dipes up to dry outside earlier today and quickly running out of clothes pins. I don't know what it is but it seems that I have fewer each time I use them and I know I'm not losing them! But anyway, I got to my bG inserts and thought, "Hey! These have snaps! I can snap them together to hang two up with only one clothes pin!" It's probably silly but I was really excited about that. And it was a good thing too because I had just enough pins left over for the rest of the wash!

Now, for the idiot side: DD's diapers have been getting super stinky. I guess the toddler pee and all. We'd just been using kangacare wetbags that hang on the changing table and stay there until wash day. DD started sleeping really bad at night and one time DH came out of her room and said it stunk to high heaven in there and he thought that's why she wasn't sleeping well. I knew it stunk but I thought it wasn't as bad as my sensitive, womanly, pregnant nose was making it out to be. So we took the wetbags out of her room and, low and behold, it doesn't stink anymore and she's sleeping better! Duh! So now I want to find a better solution for storing the dirty dipes because I'd really prefer it to be in the room, next to the changing table for convenience sake. I was thinking of some sort of trash can with an air tight seal? I know there have been posts asking for recs in the past but I didn't have a problem so I didn't pay attention...oops! I'd like a larger pail that takes a washable liner and will be large enough to eventually hold up to 2 days worth of diapers for 2 kiddos. Any recs out there?

  • I have this trashcan.  I use a Grovia pail liner.  I haven't had much of a stink problem.  I wash every other day and it is probably only half full, although diapers that I rinse stay in the bathroom.  I like that it swings because it is easy to get diapers in.  I see you wanted an airtight seal, but here is another option!

  • I just have a trash can from Target. It isn't airtight, but we used to have an air freshener we left in it, so you only smelled that (it was natural, not like Glade). MH didn't like it, so we don't use it anymore, and it isn't too stinky. We use Planet Wise pail liners.
