NT Testing Question...

Current Moms,

Where did you go for NT testing (if you did it) in Atlanta? The places my ob-gyn office are recommending are so expensive (with insurance)! My office is Atlanta Women's Specialists and they deliver mostly at the main Northside location. I think if I can find an independent facility, my insurance will cover the testing at 100% or if I find a physician's office to do it, I will only have to pay a $35 copay.

My nt test was at maternal fetal specialists at northside.

I went to Atlanta Perinatal consultants. With ds1 and ds2, I went to the northside hospital office but with this pregnancy I went to the piemdont office. I only had to pay by $35 copay with all three.

I go to AWS as well and I know they don't do the nt scan but send you to Atlanta perinatal consultants. I would think if your insurance covers it they would cover it at atlatna perinatal consultants.

I go to Northside Women's Specialists and had mine at Maternal Fetal Specialists.

Atlanta Perinatal Consultants said they would bill as an outpatient facility...and my insurance said they would only cover 80% after the deductible. I just called Maternal Fetal Specialists and they claim they bill as an independent facility/physician's office which would only result in a $35 copay. I hate how vague this whole billing process is!! We may just go with MFS.

I go to the same practice (AWS) and will be going to Maternal Fetal Specialists for the same reason. I will only have to pay a co-pay.

You knwo I think I did have to pay a deductible with ds1 but with ds2 and this pregnancy we don't have deductibles on our plan so it was just a copay. I know insurance is so confusing. Good luck!

Yep. I found out the hard way that Atlanta Perinatal charges you an arm and a leg as an "outpatient." I think I ended up with a bill for $400 or more for one ultrasound with them. Went to Maternal-Fetal with DD#2 and never had more than a copay. I also liked their offices better - MUCH shorter wait times.
