FTM (as many of you already know) and feeling kind of disappointed.
So, I came home today very excited because my bump is actually starting to round out, (making me feel less like a fat SOS) but after reading a post on the 2nd tri board about breasts leaking, I'm a little discouraged. Mine are still fine. A little sore maybe (sometimes) but otherwise I'm still intact. I read that by 20 weeks I'm "supposed" to be leaking at least a little if I plan on being able to breastfeed. True or false? I know I may still have time, but one woman reported leaking as early as 8 weeks?
Also, I've been having weird dreams about going into labor... yes I know, strange. It freaks me out a little, to be honest. What would you make of all this? What have your experiences (if any) been like?
Re: worried that i'm not "pregnant enough"?
I've nursed my two other children for over a year each and never leaked before they were born. And I had issues with over producing. You're fine. Everyone is different.
I have weird dreams too. One I Go into labor at 27 weeks (which I did with my son). In another I'm 43 weeks pregnant and begging to be induced. I've dreamt my kids looked like bugs and everything else. Dreams are just dreams. Try not to stress.
DD born 07.06.09 || DS born 01.24.11 || Bean 3.0 due 11.16.12
With DD, I did not leak at all until after she was born. I totally wouldn't worry. We bf for a year. We weaned 10ish months ago and as of right now, I could spray you in the face across the room! lol! Literally. I don't leak often, but these bad boys are already making milk. I would absolutly not worry about not leaking since this is your first.
With pregnancy comes ridiculous and VIVID dreams. Last night I dreamt I was on CSI or Law & Order and there was a serial killer whose calling card was leaving skittles everywhere. Who dreams this stuff? Apparently me...
Leaking at 20wk sounds really crazy early to me, even for those people who do leak.
I only leaked the 2nd time, and even then not until the last few days (after 40wk!). I had no problems BFing.
A better place to get BFing information than the interwebz might be a hospital class about it or go to a LLL meeting (you can totally go while still pg)
I leaked early with my DD, and thought the rest of my pregnancy/BF/EPing experience. I have not however started leaking this time around, but I know it started around this time last pregnancy.
I have never heard that you are 'supposed' to be leaking a little now if you plan on BFing, where did you hear that from?

I'm about a week ahead of you, am also insane about not having enough symptoms and "is the baby still in there"... This week I decided that my bump is shrinking and I look less pregnant. My husband keeps assuring me that everything is fine and I most certainly did not shrink. I think he just doen't want to hear it, but my dad doesn't see me every day and he said it's bigger too, so maybe I'm just nutso.
I'm not leaking at all, but they are a good bit larger than they used to be. They aren't sore anymore really, but I sometimes have pains in there. A girl I co teach with just had a baby in December. She bfs her now 4 month old son, and she didn't leak until after he was born.
As for dreams, I have all kinds of crazy ones. I hear it's not that uncommon.
I would say that in my limited experience as a FTM, Pregnant Gretchen is significantly less rational, more emotional, and much crazier about dumb stuff than Not Pregnant Gretchen. I already had my share of issues in that area. Pregnancy has just made it worse, but I'll take the excuse.
You're not alone, and you can take the worrying as a sign that your hormones are doing their thing. My sister had an easy pregnancy, she wasn't very uncomfortable until she got huge. Her son was born healthy and 10 pounds. He's a year old now, and he's just fine. Some people are just lucky and have bodies that adjust to the hormone influx better than other peoples
I remember reading about leaking with DS and I was worried because I wasn't. I never leaked and I had an oversupply in the beginning.
Don't stress; it'll all work out!
No leaking here either and I am hoping I don't get any until after baby is here. I am thinking about wearing nursing pads anyway though, b/c the it seems lately that the girls are always on point and it's a bit embarassing.
