I planned on getting a da vinci, but I was just told it ranks a C on baby bargains. I need to get this crib by next week, so I can start working on the nursery. Thanks in advance.
What exactly are you looking for? A normal crib, a convertible?
Dutailier is a great brand, Pali is another one. Neither of them have had any recalls, and they are all built to last. The Dutailier cribs convert from a crib, to a toddler ned, daybed and full-size bed. They are slightly more expensive than the davinci, but to me, the quality is well worth it.

There are a million brands and I'll give you specifics if you're looking for a certain brand.
I know when I was shopping I had a $400 limit on what I was willing to spend on a crib so that limited me somewhat. Some of the best rated (B rating and above) cribs under $400 were:

Then definitely check out the Dutailier or the Pali.
If you can't find any stores near you that have them, and don't mind a bit of a drive, there is a great store in Yorktown Heights, NY (about an hour drive from NYC) that sells both. It's called I Love My Kids. They will also price match if you find it cheaper elsewhere.

We have the Graco Lauren crib and we love it, it has very good ratings, they even featured it on Good Morning America or the Early Show, I don't remember which one. And on the plus side, is was only $150. We got the espresso color and it is so pretty!
If you have a free weekend you may want to take a trip east to the Amish furniture sellers. They make beautiful stuff, all the old fashioned way. You won't find any fiberboard tainted with formaldehyde or loose parts. It's all solid.

We've loved DS's Munire crib. It converts to a toddler bed and then to a full size bed. It's very sturdy and worth the $$. He has the "Newport" in distressed black and all the furniture to go with it.

This is a magazine, right?
It's a book. You'll want the purple one (7th edition). It'll have all the latest info. I got it on amazon for about $5.
Thanks. Amazon is where I was planning on getting my crib from.
