Ladies, get in a swimming pool if you can!!

For the 1st time this summer, I was finally able to get into the swimming pool and relax. Oh my...it felt soooooo good! You become so weightless. Takes all the pressure off your back and joints and all. I became pain free! You can really feel the difference when you get out when you are quickly reminded just how heavy our baby bellys really are! So please...if you can, I highly recommend getting into a pool for some relief!

  • I cannot wait to get into a pool! A friend of mine finished her pool installation and I plan to go there soon and my little sister lives in a community with a nice indoor/outdoor pool, so I plan on maximizing that as well. I am totally looking forward to getting "rid" of this pregnancy weight for a little while! Ha.

  • OMG! I completly agree! Preg with DS I really didn't want to be bothered with getting into a bathing suit to go in the pool (esp bc it wasn't my own and I felt super self concious), but oh man was I happy that DH made me get into a pool. This time around I couldn't be happier that my in laws (who we don't usually get along with) have a beautiful new pool. We just recently came back from vaca in Florida and I got to take advantage of the nice weather down there, but like you said getting out of the pool you are VERY quickly reminded how much you weigh.. it feels like and then some!

I take ds swimming a few times a week, and I agree--it is bliss.

  • Totally agree! I even swam in a gross lake for a couple hours last weekend just cause it felt so good! It was, however, next to impossible to climb up on the floating dock :/
  • I never got up the courage last year to hop in a bathing suit and head to the pool. We are heading to the OBX at the end of the week to a house that has its own private pool... I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to getting in the pool!

  • I agree!  I've been a few times and went yesterday and it feel so good on my knees to not have all of the pressure on them.

  • Ouf, I got in one today and it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. LO started flipping around while I was in there. Guess she felt the "weightless" feeling, too! haha! Glad you felt better! I plan to use it as much as possible this summer.

  • I just ordered my maternity suit from ON so I hope to be swimming very soon.  We don't have a pool but my sister and parents both do so I'll definitely utilize theirs.

  • I've been taking my son to the pool a lot but am still too shy to actually remove the cover up and get in. My DH managed to 'push' me in the other weekend though....cover up and all....I have to admit, it felt great.

  • morgs8384, I'm going to Outerbanks (Duck)on the 16th, have a good time!!!

I have my own pool, and let me tell ya, over Memorial Day Weekend it was incredible!  Never appreciated my pool more UNTIL I got the crap scared out of me when I went to lay on the raft... I was using my stomach muscles to scooch over and lay totally on the raft, then as I looked at my belly, it TOTALLY shifted to the left side! I thought it would permanently end up like that... I don't know what the little one was thinking, but he must have been confused with the amnio fluids swimming around, and the pool floating around, lol.

  • Now I don't want to get in, lol!  I want to feel the weightlessness, but not the heaviness afterwards!

  • did so this weekend, and next day started looking into water aerobics at my local community pool! it won't be overly convienent, but worth it to me to get a weightless and cool workout (as its already 90+ on a regular basis here).

YES! I spent almost all day in the pool last weekend and when I got out I thought I was going to tip over. I couldn't believe how heavy I felt!! No wonder my back hurts all the time.

  • Yes, this!! And even though the weight comes back when I get out of the pool, the weightlessness while I'm in the pool resets my posture so I'm not so swaybacked when I get out. A long as I'm in the pool for at least 30 minutes, my hip pain and lower back pain from the shifted center of gravity go away for a full 24 hours.
