My daughter is 9 months and really doesn't bear weight on her legs. Her doctor says she has low muscle tone. She is on target for all milestones except she lags slightly behind on the gross motor ones such as bearing weight on her arms, sitting up, bearing weight on her legs. We go weekly to PT and she is doing great "catching up". She just started crawling and we can't stop her.
Each child is different. Ask your PT. My urge was to research all potential reason's why my daughter was low tone. It just gets scary and overwhelming. Your PT and physician is your best source of information. Good luck!
Mine just started crawling at 10m. I try to stand her up but she doesn't seem to be putting much weight on her legs. Ped. wasn't concerned at the last check up. Was there another reason for the EI?
My daughter was like this, when you'd try to stand her up she'd bend her knees up and wouldn't put her feet down. We started in her in physical therapy at one year and also got her ankle/foot braces which helped her quite a bit. She no longer wears the braces but does wear an insert in her shoes as she rolls in on her ankles (she's 3 now).
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
