pampers cruisers vs huggies...thoughts??

So my DD recently outgrew the Pampers Swaddlers as I can only find up to Size 3. So I changed her to cruisers. I had tried the cruisers once before when the store was out of swaddlers and wasn't nuts about them. Her skin always seems wet with the cruisers and I am a crazy diaper changer...I change that baby constantly! The first time I went from swaddlers to cruisers she got diaper rash. This time, once again, she has a nasty diaper rash. I'm tempted to try to switch to Huggies but am not sure what to expect. I dont' know if now that she is a bit older the diapers just don't hold as much or what. Anyone have any recommendations?

  • I switched to Baby Dry after DS outgrew swaddlers. I only went to Cruisers when he outgrew the biggest Baby Dry size, and I agree they suck. And they are also significantly more expensive per diaper for some reason! We are using Pampers Easy Ups now and I much prefer them to both Cruisers and Huggies Pull Ups.

  • Huggies don't fit DD well, so we stick with cruisers. I second trying out the baby dry version of pampers We like those as well!
  • I have used the following:

Huggies - Snug and Dry (they stink, I don't like them, you can smell the pee in them and makes dd stink too - plus they leak to much for my liking)

Huggies Little Movers - DD liked those and so did I....we didn't leak and they fit her well but we didn't get a lot of coupons

Huggies Little Snugglers - with ds and we like those, no leaks so far

Pampers - Swaddlers with both dd and ds - they were good too....not many problems but these were WITHOUT the dry max

Pampers - Baby Dry - LOVE THESE, they are the economical choice for Pampers (like the snug and dry are for huggies) so you get more for your money. I get lots of coupons...they typically have a coupon inside too.... no reactions or leakage with dd... I will put these on ds soon.

I should mention I will not try the cruisers becuase of the dry max, I will not put that on either one of my children,...

  • We tried huggies a couple of times with DS and he always leaked out of them. We like the pampers baby dry and the target brand.
  • We use Cruisers and have had no leaking issues with them. In fact they are what fits her the best and seem like they hold like five pounds of liquid. (She pees a lot overnight). My second choice is Pampers Baby Dry. We have also started using Pampers Easy Ups on her and I really like those.

Up until she became a size 3, we were a Huggies only family, because I didn't want to support the "evil dry max" company. LOL But it's like, when she moved from Lil' Snugglers to Lil' Movers, the leaks... my god the leaks. Nothing in the Huggies, Luvs, or generic diaper "families" fit her well enough around the legs anymore to prevent pee and poo leaks. I finally broke down and tried Cruisers as a last resort. We're now a strictly Pampers family.

I think it just depends on how the kid is built and different diapers will work better for different kids. Mine has a bubble butt and chunky thighs. LOL (just like her mama...) Her cousin who is a year older than her, was a Huggies only kid all the way through until she potty trained. Different strokes...

  • I have used the target brand diapers for the majority of time (my son is 2.5 now) and they are wonderful.  I have never had leaks with them.  You save a ton of money.  If I ever had a leak I knew it was time to move up to the next larger size.  If you haven't tried these you definitely should!!
  • After using Swaddlers for first 11 months, I switched to Cruisers and my son got an awful rash.  It finally went away when I took the advice of a friend and tried Target Up and Up.  Been using Up and Up for over a year now and they are great.  I used Huggies or CVS brand overnights.

  • I love huggies little movers. I had DD in Pampers Swaddlers for a while, then someone gave us box of Huggies and I have been hooked since. Now that she older we use Up&Up diapers for the cost savings.
  • Pampers in general seem less plastic to me than Huggies. I've tried the Baby Dry and Cruiser and prefer the latter because they have a higher rise.
