It finally occured to me that if I wanted to successfully night wean, I should probably try to stop including nursing so strongly in our bedtime routine. Kaeldra usually nurses right before her bath, has her bath, gets lotioned, dressed, and nurses a little more usually while I talk or read to her. So I decided to try to just read to her and give her her cup while we snuggle after her bath and lay her down. She went down in about 20 minutes and was only upset for a few minutes off and on.
The only thing is, I can't believe how bad I feel! I know I really need her to stop waking so often, I'm a zombie, but I feel terrible!
Re: Has anyone worked nursing out of the nighttime routine?
No advice, just a question...what's in Kaeldra's cup?
I stopped nursing DD around 4 1/2 months before bedtime and gave her a bottle of BM instead. I only quit because my supply was dipping in the evenings and I was spending so much time feeding her. Now, I pump instead before I go to bed.
Either way, DD still gets milk before bed... just not straight from the tap.
