New Sleeping issues anyone???

Over the past week to about two weeks Avery has gotten a lot worse at going down to sleep. We have always laid her in her bed and she has put herself to sleep. Well lately it is taking her HOURS to go to sleep. I know she is sleepy, she just won't give it up. We go in there when she needs us but other than that she just talks and rolls around in her bed or she throws her paci, blanket, & baby out of the bed so we will come in and pick it up.

Her naps have also become a problem. Same thing with taking so long to fall asleep when I know she is dead on her feet. A couple of nights she has woken up to play then will fall back asleep on her on.

What's going on? Any advice? Going through this with your LO? Help.

  • Going through the same thing here!

  • Were not going through this yet but could this be a sign of a need to transition to one nap? Maybe she's just not tired because she's sleeping a lot during the day.

  • We're having the same problem here too. In our case, she's not ready to drop her second nap yet but she did just cut a molar. Now she's working on 3 other teeth. We always run into sleep and eating issues when she's working on a tooth. :(

  • Maya has gone from an 8-9pm bedtime to a 10-11pm bedtime and I can't get her to go down earlier.  She's waking 2-4 times a night as well, when she was STTN or waking once.  We're on 3-4 weeks of this and I'm waiting for her to get over this "phase", cut a tooth, have a growth spurt- anything that would explain this!  She's not waking up that much later  either so ends up being tired during the day and one of her 2 naps is generally 1 hour+ (both naps were normally 30 mins each).

No advice here- but it seems you are not alone!

    I never thought of that!

  • DS has been up for hour almost every night for the past 2 or 3 weeks, and he's miserable but impossible to get back to sleep.  He dropped to 1 good nap at about 8 months, and his nap and bedtime are still easy since he's relaxed, but getting him back to sleep when he's awake and worked up at 3am - not so much.  This needs to pass.  Quickly.

  • We're going through this as well, however he's still napping relatively decently, on most days.
