burning pain across abdomen ??

For the past week, I have been waking up in the middle of the night from burning pain across my stomach.  It starts just below my rib cage and goes as far down as my belly button.  It comes and goes all night and TUMS doesnt help at all.  It never happens during the day.  Has anyone else had this??  It this what heartburn during pregnancy feels like (I never had heartburn before so forgive my stupidity)

    Not a silly question at all!  I had never had heartburn either so I wasn't sure what I was feeling was heartburn either - Honestly, I still don't know if thats what it was - but mine was just about what you describe, but sometimes would come up to my throat almost.  So - I'm not sure if I helped you at all - but I did experience something similar!!!  :)

    I never had heartburn before pregnancy either.  For me it is higher and I feel it rising from my breast area to my throat.  What works for me is sitting straight up, drinking water or milk.

    Try keeping a bottle of water at yur bed tonight and if that happens again, try sitting straight up and drinking the water and see if that helps.  If it doesn't call your doctor.
